[Kang Yoyo] will revive the ancient knowledge of the Pranata Mangsa, an ancient seasonal calendar system that was eradicated with the introduction of modern farming techniques by the Indonesian government in the late 1960’s. It is still used among certain traditional farmers in Indonesia, including Kasepuhan Ciptagelar. Aim is to make a Pranata Mangsa guide in order to create wider access to this ancient calendar system and (re)use the knowledge for modern farming. This method can improve the quality and quantity of the harvest for farmers worldwide. In collaboration with Arthur, lecturer at the Design Academy, the planetary knowledge will be translated into data and embedded onto an interactive guide or calendar to be displayed as a prototype during DDW.
